WILL DRONES BE THE GAME CHANGER FOR FACILITIES MANAGEMENT?

WILL DRONES BE THE GAME CHANGER FOR FACILITIES MANAGEMENT?

DATE: 22 APRIL 2021

The future of facilities management is technology enabled and COVID-19 will accelerate the use of digital technology.

Drones bring incredible opportunities for improved efficiency in facility management. The biggest opportunity for these unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is in safety and automation. While drones are already used in surveillance and aerial photography across various sectors like construction, usage of drones in facility management is still in a nascent stage.

In light of the growing emphasis on process improvement and approach towards digitisation, industry participants are exploring new and intelligent ways to manage facilities and assets. For example, a leading FM service provider in Malaysia has incorporated drones for data collection and identifying maintenance requirements, for better service delivery. In Singapore, a local start-up has been tasked to introduce artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled drones for building façade inspection.

Despite the benefits drones offer, evolving regulations governing the use of drones have slowed the adoption of drone technology in commercial applications. Current restrictions on the use of commercial drones limit facility managers in taking full advantage of these machines and getting the results they are looking for.

The webinar will focus on:

  • Potential growth opportunities for drones in the future of FM market
  • Adoption and application trends of UAV / drone technologies in facility management services

Join Experia and Frost & Sullivan to find out how drone technology is evolving, its benefits and if drones really are the future of facilities management.
